Preen (?), n. [AS. preon a clasp, bodkin; akin to D. priem punch, bodkin, awl, G. pfriem, Icel. prj&omac;nn a knitting needle, pin, Dan. preen a bodkin, punch.] A forked tool used by clothiers in dressing cloth.
