In Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Plan R was the tactical plan of action that allowed General Jack D. Ripper to send twenty-eight B-52 bombers equipped with fourteen-hundred megatons of nuclear weapons to attack Russia on his own authority.
