1941- One of the founding members of the improvisational comedy troupe, the Firesign Theatre. The other 3 being: Peter Bergman, Phil Proctor amd David Ossman. He was working at Santa Monica radio station KPFK doing a show called 'Plays by Dead Authors' which included Ossman. He also wrote for the show called 'Radio Free Oz".

He is probably best known for his portrayal of the detective Nick Danger, a character which first appeared on the album How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All?.

In 1973, he released a solo album called Rollermaidens From Outer Space which included the single C'mon Jesus.
