Dr. Peter Chen was given the Harry M. Goode Memorial Award in 2003 for the development of the Entity-Relationship Model.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of Data & Knowledge Engineering, the Associate Editor for the Journal of Intelligent Robotic Systems and other journals. In the past, he was the Associate Editor for IEEE Computer, Information Sciences and other journals.

1968 - BS in Electrical Engeneering from the National Taiwan University
1970 - MS in Computer Science at Harvard University
1973 - Ph.D. also at Harvard

Teaching Experience
1974 to 1978 - Assistant Professor MIT Sloan School
1978 to 1984 - Assciate Professor at UCLA Management School
1983 to Present - Murphy J. Foster Professor at the Computer Science Department of Louisiana State University
1986 to 1987 - Donald Sinclair visiting Professor for teh Electrical Engeneering and Computer Science department, MIT
1990 to 1991 - Visiting Professor of computer science at Harvard University
