The first in the Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper, the novel Over Sea, Under Stone bears superficial similarities to an Enid Blyton novel. The astute reader will see that this is not the case, for things are afoot in the Cornish village of Trewissick (based on Mevagissey) which would make Ms. Blyton's hair curl.
