Bobsleigh is a cool freaking sport. I mean, you're barreling down an inclined plane with a low coefficient of friction, and curves! In this big freaking metal monstrosity. And you're trying to make it go FASTER! Crazy!
I think the best use that we could put a bobsled track to would probably be downhill skating. Wouldn't that be great? Whoever gets the furthest down the track before falling wins!
Oh yeah, back to the bobsleigh. It's fast paced and exciting. I wouldn't want to be one of the guys in the back, because I couldn't trust the guy in front not to flip us over.
For the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, the Jamaicans sent a team. They did badly, and I think their sled flipped. But they picked it up and carried it across the line. That was cool. Disney made a movie about it. What other sport do they make movies about the team that comes in last?! Cool huh. Oh yeah, the movie's name was Cool Runnings.
Germans are really good at this sport, as are the Swiss.
Oh yeah, and they finally started letting women in on the Olympic medals. Finally realized that it's the 21st Century I guess.
