Navier-Stokes Existence and Smoothness

created by Chris

(idea) by Chris (3.7 y) (print)   ?   (I like it!) Wed Nov 22 2000 at 0:46:08

This is one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems proposed by the Clay Mathematics Institute in April 2000.

The Navier-Stokes equations are the governing equations behind most of fluid mechanics, but surprisingly little is known about them. The millennium problem is concerned with showing that these equations give out smooth well-behaved output when given smooth well-behaved input.
