Since 1926, Mt. Olive Pickle Company has brought the pickle industry to quaint Mount Olive, North Carolina. The company is located on the Corner of Cucumber and Vine just a few minutes drive from downtown Mount Olive. Included in the wide variety of processed and fresh packed products are Dill Chips, Deli Kosher pickles, Sweet Cubes (made from watermelon rinds), and Sweet Midgets (these are quite tasty). In April, Mt. Olive Pickle Company hosts the annual N.C. Pickle Festival. At this time of year, people gather from far and near in celebration of the precious pickle.

Mt. Olive Pickle Company is also somewhat notorious on college campuses. The company has been blamed for the low wages and mistreatment of farmworkers. It has been said that "behind the jar, there's plenty to hide"*.
