Motion Perception
- complicated process involving both
visual
messages from the
retina
and messages from
muscles
of the eyes as they follow an
object
.
Real Movement
- physical displacement, how position of object changes in relation to its background. Involves
M-cells

).
Biological Movement
- we innately recognize the movement of a human body. It's more flowing and natural than
artificial
, nonhuman movement.
Autokinetic Movement
(Apparent Movement) - This is when we have the perception that a
stationary
object is moving. Also, if you stare at something long enough, it will appear to move because of the slight
twitching
of your eye muscles.
Stroboscopic Movement
