Misplaced modifier

(thing) by Tannor Sun Jan 28 2001 at 21:26:13
A modifier whose modified term is present in the sentence, but is not identifiable as the term being modified.

Exampe:
Laughing so hard, EDB was offended by Tannor's frivolity in a time of crisis.

'Laughing so hard' refers to Tannor, yet seems to be referring to EDB from the order of the sentence.
