MEATH
A county in Ireland. It is on the east coast just north of the county of Dublin and south of the county of Louth.
Towns in Meath include Navan, Trim, Ashbourne, Slane, Nobber, Kells and Nobber. Also in Meath is The Hill of Tara, which is site of the seat of the ancient high kings of Ireland. It is therefore known as "The Royal County".
The major river in the county is the river Boyne which was the site of the by now infamous "battle of the Boyne" in 1690.

Although Meath has a small stretch of coastline on the Irish Sea, between Dublin and Louth, it is predominantly an inland county. As well as Dublin and Louth, it borders on Cavan, Westmeath, Offaly and Kildare.

Pierce Brosnan may be Meath's most famous son, but other noted Meathmen include comedians Dylan Moran and Tommy Tiernan.
