Lost For Words

A book of one hundred blank pages, costing ten pounds, with its own ISDN, by Nottingham Trent University lecturer Anne Lydiat. A quote from philosopher Maurice Blanchot is inside the dust jacket, reading, 'About this book I have promised myself to say nothing.'

The author says the book should be kept on the bookshelf and 'read' when peace and quiet are sought. 'I wanted a book that dealt with silent spaces. You open it and there's nothing to read. But maybe that nothing is something.' She was inspired by visits to Belgian convents where talking is banned.
