Lookout! Records was an East Bay (Berkeley) independent punk label responsible for bring punk-pop acts to the fore-front of the late-eighties/nineties. Lookout! signed on a bunch of local acts, which included the now mainstream act, Green Day, and other now popular bands such as Operation Ivy, the Donnas, Pinhead Gunpowder, Screeching Weasel, etc. With the prominence and growing popularity of Lookout!'s bands (mainly Green Day), punk exploded into the mainstream in the early nineties producing related "punk" bands like Rancid (including former Operation Ivy members), the Dance Hall Crashers, Blink 182, the Offspring, etc.
