A Caldecott Medal Winner (1990). Lon Po Po is a retelling of a Chinese version of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Its a little different then the standard version in that its the mother that goes to the Grandmother's house and while the three daughters are left at home to deal with the wolf. The story is wonderfully illustrated by the author/illustrator Ed Young in a style reminiscent of Chinese artwork.
