Linux kernel
as soon as it appears on kernel.org. There are three main reasons to do this:

bragging rights
- perhaps the most frequent reason.
To look through the source and contribute - the most noble reason
Hoping that this new release will finally contain the
bugfix
that makes a piece of hardware you own work properly - my reason
