At this point, Kerrie's mother (who was nearby, in the kitchen) burst into paroxysms of laughter and Kerrie and I gave each other a mischevious little glance and smiled. Mission accomplished.

afternoon

I go out this morning to return a video (South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, if you need to know) and on my way back, I hit the front tire of my bike on the curb...

And there I was, hauling my bike home on my back, three miles through the suburbs. Ack.

• Lunch with Y. A girl, blonde, cute, and about six years old stands up in the booth at our left. She clutches the ledge with tiny, magenta-tipped fingers, and sticks her tongue out at us, as in, she gave Gene Simmons a run for his money. Based on this, as well as a later occurrence of her trying to remove her tank top while back in the booth, lifting the front of her skirt while in line with her mother, and reiteration of the tongue incident, we speculated (strongly) that she would be a stripper one day, receive a consistent supply of gifts, and probably have a drinking problem.
• Went to work although I wasn't scheduled. I did more reading on EIGRP and went through some tickets that were like hairballs of incompetence and idiocy. Noted again that people who prefer the gunslinging/pointing fingers method of career advancement are obvious and crude.
• Bought The Manchurian Candidate and The Endless Summer on DVD for a friend's birthday.
• I'm seeing certain positive changes from my dairy-free path.

I went in to work, and told my boss I would only be there for a couple hours.
