People have written several things having to do with irc and e2.

for mirc: mIRC E2 Node Alias
for linux: xchat E2 patch
for sirc: Everything2 support for sirc
for irssi: Everything2 support for irssi

But, none of them do the best possible thing - convert phrases with brackets around them in an irc client into links to e2.

>There is something analagous you can do with web browsers using javascript bookmarklets - you can create a bookmarklet that opens a new window at a URL gotten from any text you select. Or, you can make it do a google search for whatever text you've selected. But it is probably harder to make IRC Clients do this.
