The ICQ Flower is the icon for the icq program and is probably one of the most familiar computer symbols in the world. Next to Tux, I think it is one of my two favorite computer mascots.

Tragically, I must break the news that the ICQ flower is not a flower at all, but is most probably Welwitschia Mirabilis, a very rare plant that grows in the Namib desert. Regardless of what the icon represents, the ritual turning of the flower from red to green is seen as a sign by millions around the world that they have come home.
