Pseudonym for Charles Bukowski, and the main character in much of his writing, which is largely autobiographical. Bukowski did not publish under this name.

Bukowski had a habit of transparently changing famous people's names in his work. Example: Jack Kerouac becomes Mack Derouac. (That particular pseudonym always made me feel vaguely embarassed for Bukowski. It's just so stupid.)
