There are numerous variations on this saying, including an irrevent childrens' rhyme, "Gong xi fa cai hong bao na lai," meaning "Congratulations and be prosperous, bring me red envelopes." It is traditional during Chinese New Year to give out red envelopes (hong bao) filled with cash. |
