Ahhh. They certainly are. This particular apple variety has a sweet flavour somewhere between the tartness of a Granny Smith and the cloying sweetness of some red apples. Golden delicious is the second most popular apple variety in the world. They have a firm flesh and are very juicy. They have a dark green skin with freckles of light brown. As the fruit ripens the skin becomes paler and more yellow.

They are excellent for cooking and are a good choice for cider.
