Nickname: Gold Digger
The main character of the "Gold Digger" comic book, Gina Diggers is an Indiana Jones-esque archeologist/scientist/inventor/genius. (And doing it *well* before Lara Croft, thank you.)
She has a most unusual family background: her father Theodore Diggers is an archmage, and her mother Julia Diggers is the Armsmaster of Jade, a parallel world where magic is ascendant over technology. (Although either will work in both Jade and Earth).
Her "nickname" of 'Gold Digger' is actually an insult used by her rivals, implying she cares more about treasure than discovery. It is patently untrue.
