Gentle Giant

A British Progressive Rock band which specialized in strong counterpoint and early renaisance instruments. One of several English bands of the late sixties/early seventies that started out as a blues coverband and then morphed into weird prog music after (presumably) taking too much acid.

Their discography includes: Interview, Free Hand, Octopus, Three Friends, and In a Glass House, among others. Spock's Beard, a modern prog band, has several songs that are reminiscent of Gentle Giant, especially 'Thoughts' and 'Gibberish'. Gentle Giant never got the notoriety of ELP or Yes but are well liked among Prog fans.
