I just found out that http://everything.blockstackers.com now just redirects to the Everything2 home page.

Everything 1
1998-2001

A toast
to absent friends
in memory still bright...
some of us must be sacrificed
if all are to be saved.

Forever will Brian Eno remain on *my* Cool Nodes list.

IT'S BACK! AGAIN!
(and maybe it will stay around for a while this time)

By the grace of nate, I have resurrected Everything 1. Almost... It seems that the user table and the nodes table have been lost for good. I really wanted to set E1 back up so that we could see what node quality was like back in the day, but that's not going to happen now. I will shed silent tears for our departed nodes. But, everything is functional (mostly) and you can still play around and see what it was like for us old timers back in the day...

ccunning, you are a nut, why the hell would you do this?

SHUT UP YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP.

ahem, excuse me... As I was saying, I started out on Everything 1, I wasted quite a few hours on that glorious site known as everything.slashdot.org. I wrote crappy nodes and read crappy nodes for hours on end. I'm nostalgic, I hate to see anything disappear forever. Besides, it's nice for folks to take a look at how everything2 evolved.

For the truly curious or simply nostalgic, the Wayback Machine has scrapes of ye olde everything.slashdot.org front page:

http://web.archive.org/web/19990125085641/http://everything.slashdot.org/

None of the links work, of course, but it does make a nice primary source.
