Elasticity Number

(idea) by Professor Pi Wed Oct 04 2000 at 21:12:53

A dimensionless number used in momentum transfer in general and viscoelastic flow calculations in particular. Proportional to (Elastic force) / (Inertial force).

El = (theta mu) / (rho r2)

r: pipe/conduit radius, mu: viscosity, rho: density, theta: relaxation time
