I realized one day that Ross MacKenzie (the man who writes these things) only has several basic editorials, which he apparently sets some sort of computer generator to spit out a piece that expresses one of the following:
  1. Gosh, I hate (Bill Clinton/Al Gore/Janet Reno).
  2. The news media is run by a leftest liberal conspiracy.
  3. I want more tax cuts
  4. Nobody likes or votes for Democrats.
  5. Liberals hate anyone who makes money.
  6. Clinton sold out to the (Chinese/Russians/Cubans).
  7. Republicans are always right.
  8. I love microsoft. (often blended with #5)
  9. Liberals are all a bunch of tree-hugging, dope smoking cummunists who want to take our guns away. (aka liberal conspiracy du jour)
  10. I love confederate history OR Robert E. Lee was the second coming of Jesus OR The civil war had nothing to do with slavery, no matter what anyone says.
  11. Everyone should be required to pray in public schools, OR "I love fundamentalism".
  12. Did I mention how much I hate liberals today?
  13. We want more nukes.
  14. Die liberals, die die die...
suspect exaggeration? Well let me give you a real life example:

You may remember from a year or so ago a controversy sorrounding a girl who was expelled from her school's chapter of the National Honor Society. What happened was that she got pregnant, and decided to have the baby. Being somehwere in the deep south (the specific state escapes me), she was expelled from it by the fundamentalists who ran the school. It was in the paper for a few days, pundits crowed, ect, ect. The Richmond Times-Dispatch's opinion? An editorial stating that because one of the requirements of the society was to be "honorable", she was dishonorable because she had sex and got pregnant and therefore deserved to be kicked out. (I am not making this up).

Now you know why I'm planning on getting the hell out of here as fast as I can, and am never coming back.

All opinions like those of Ross MacKenzie should be banned. Who would have thought that someone would use the Editorial page for biased journalism? Foul!

Here's what you do to remove the offending opinions:

Actually the entire paper, which I used to read when I could not get my hands on a "real paper", is FOUL

I think what StormHunter may be trying to say is that wretched sameness is wretched, on either side of the political aisle.
The Village Voice suffers from this same problem.

Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin, etc. etc.
