Duffman was recently in an episode involving a
sinister plot to move the Springfield Isotopes to
Albuquerque.
Homer discovered the plot in one of the usual clever plot
expositions (Yes, I do mean that Homer does stupid things up until the point where the real plot starts). Homer tries to expose the
evil plan, but the owner of the stadium and his henchman Duffman, presumably on loan from team sponsor
Duff, deny it all. Homer chains himself to a lamp post and goes on a
hunger strike, gaining many gawping onlookers, resulting in one of the best lines ever:
Stadium Owner (looking out window): Damn, no-one is watching the game, what's going on?
Duffman (looking out the other window): Duffman Is Thrusting In The Direction Of The Problem!
I should note here that Duffman stands with hands on hips and does the pelvic thrust while saying the line.
Then there was some extra padding about Homer being the new mascot (Lets have a big hand for Hungry Hungry Homer! He's starving himself until the 'topes win the pennant!) and in the end the team didn't get sold. I wasn't really paying attention because the episode hit it's climax with one line from a minor character. I knew it couldn't get any better after that.
Lord Brawl says re
Duff Man: Such conventional wisdom as exists suggests 'Barry "Duff Man" Duffman' is the full character name.
