| Dirty bath water is a falsehood propagated mainly by pro-shower groups. These individuals claim that as when one bathes, as opposed to showers, one is lingering in the water that has been "tainted" by one's own uncleanliness.
However, this is patently false. Water is one of the strongest natural solvents available. Coupled with the bubble bath that many bathers prefer, giving the water the ability to remove oils, bath water can remove all uncleanliness on one's body, given sufficient time.
It is this "sufficient time" that is the key advantage of bathing. In a shower, water sprays from the shower head onto the body, then is pulled by gravity to a grate through which it is drained. As such, the water is not given sufficient time to dissolve the uncleanliness from the body, and as it is just water, without any bubble bath, the only oil dissipation comes from manual addition of a soap.
The fact of the matter is: unless one is rather caked in grime, bath water doesn't tend to be very dirty. The languishment in calm water will allow bath water to reach more grime than showering will. Not only that, but with the addition of bathing oils, and other bath scents, one can scent and soothe one's skin, increasing the apparent cleanliness of one's body, and giving the bath rejuvenating properties.
