Cauchy Number

(idea) by Professor Pi Mon Oct 09 2000 at 4:49:36

A dimensionless number used in momentum transfer in general and compressible flow calculations in particular. Proportional to (Inertial force) / (Compressibility force).

C = (rho V2) / (gc Eb)

Eb: bulk modulus of fluid, gc: dimensional constant, rho: density, V: velocity
