One of the more peculiar thing about Canadian political parties is their tradition of each having an 'official' colour scheme:
Liberals: Red; for Canada I would presume (they ain't the government fer' nuttin').
Progressive Conservatives: Traditionally Canada's #2 political party (although currently just hanging on at #5), the PC's have gone with a 'conservative' dark blue.
NDP: The New Democratic Party has long gone with a decidedly un-conservative - some would say outlandish - bright orange.
Bloc Quebecois: The Bloc uses a light blue (or should I say bleu); ŕ la the flag of Quebec.
Reform / Canadian Alliance: The Reform Party (when it was still around) went with an agrarian green. Upon morphing into the Canadian Alliance to try and merge with the PC's, the Alliance adopted a dual-colour scheme of green and dark blue (green for Reform, blue for Conservative). When the dual-colour scheme is impractical, the old green is solely used.
