Cal*ca"re*ous (?), a. [L. calcarius pertaining to lime. See Calx.]

Partaking of the nature of calcite or calcium carbonate; consisting of, or containg, calcium carbonate or carbonate of lime.

Calcareous spar. See as Calcite.
