| Another musical produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and directed by Steven Pimlott. Currently playing at The Apollo in Victoria, London. Set in Bombay, it cost around £4.5 million to create. The hero, Akaash (played by Raza Jaffrey), dreams of becoming a Bollywood actor, and the heroine Priya (Preeya Kalidas is the daughter of a film director who is also involved somehow with the Mafia. Obviously they fall in love. In fact, dmtw.co.uk says this;
"Akaash and Priya: two lovers from different worlds, sharing one dream."
Not the most intriguing of storylines, in fact - somewhat predictable. But it is so brilliantly colourful and has such great songs, that you can't help but want to stand up and dance along.
