In the book of Daniel in the Old Testament, we are told of three youth taken by Nebuchadnezzar II after his first seige of Jerusalem. They are commonly known by the names given to them by their Babylonian captors: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Their Hebrew names were respectively: Hannaniah, Mishael, and Azariah.

Oddly, Daniel was also given a name by the Babylonians, but few remember that name: Belteshazzar.
