1984 lesson plan

An English teacher at my high school was teaching 1984 and had a novel idea for a lesson.

A student started giving him attitude in class, and he erupted, throwing the kid out. The class was silent, until it was time for the daily Channel One broadcast.

Surprisingly, the vice principal came on the television, saying something about the expulsion of the unruly student. Mass panic ensued, until the student was invited back into the classroom to take a bow.

This had all been set up so that the television in that particular classroom would turn on at the appropriate time. The "expelled" student was obviously instructed by the teacher to pull this stunt.
