Spanish, "They shall not pass!". Revolutionary slogan coined by La Pasionária (presumably inspired by "Ils ne passeront pas!", the slogan used by Marshal Pétain during the battle of Verdun twenty years earlier) and popularised during the Spanish Civil War; used subsequently in many other liberation struggles in hispanophone countries and student sit-ins.
