and so there you sleep in your telephoneless house
in your t-shirt and in the bed that i have sat on
with your clashing family and your curious ideology
sending out i wonder what soft sparks of dream and sleepthought

as i write "unreachable you" in my poem and imagination
and in the early hours of saturday morning
as you sleep and dream as i will now also
and try to get to you that way
